Faram was founded 51 years ago, in 1957, in the heartland of one of Europe’s most stable and productive areas, north-east Italy. An innovator from the start, it was one of the first companies to produce modern furnishings. 1970 witnessed a watershed, with the defining decision to diversify into office furnishings, a sector characterised by major growth and by its state-of-the-art design and technology. Our collaboration with Bandiera&Facchini, one of Treviso’s most innovative architecture and design offices, produced several ranges of office furniture that would make the company’s name and establish their name in the market. During the 1980s and 1990s Faram expanded abroad, taking part in a joint-venture with Arlex S.A. in Spain in 1989 and opening branches in London and the Netherlands in 1992 and 1993; in 1992 it extended its activities by opening the “Healthcare Division”.
During the second half of the 1990s Faram fine-tuned and consolidated its position in the partitions market thanks to collections designed by the architect Daniele Del Missier. Internationally famous architects and designers have worked with Faram to create some of the world’s most prestigious projects placing Faram at the forefront of the office furniture market. Expansion abroad continued during 2003 and 2004 with the opening of branches in Beijing (with production facilities) and in the USA. In 2009, the Mio family joins the group of Faram shareholders, bringing their many years of experience and presence in the world of office furniture, to give the company a further boost to its growth in the international marketplace.
