An empire of steel. The new Arcelor Mittal headquarters in Paris.
With a turnover of almost $60 billion per year, around 320,000 employees and a 120-million-tonne production capacity, Arcelor Mittal is the world’s biggest steel supplier. From cars to buildings, from packaging to household appliances, every industrial sector needs steel.
The project for the new Paris headquarters used double-glazed partition walls for the offices and single-glazed walls for the small meeting spaces adjoining the circulation spaces and the atrium.
Designing interiors.
Single-glazed walls from the P600 series were used to enclose the small meeting rooms near the atrium and along the circulation spaces between the offices. This solution also rendered the interior more dynamic.
The metal wall structures are all coated dark grey.
Comfort and privacy.
A special fabric-covered canopy housing the lighting ensures acoustic comfort in the meeting rooms. Narrow silk-screened bands on the glass guarantee visual privacy
A versatile product
The P500 wall consists of toughened 6-mm thick glass that is bonded to the metal frame only on its outermost edge, not along the perimeter face as is usually the case, so that the glass is completely transparent. The solid sections of the walls and doors are oak.
