Bahlara: in praise of discontinuity
The Bahlara system allows Faram to create the work spaces of the future, offering a practical and elegant solution to the new requirements for office furniture. Smart working, temporary working and flexibility find their natural declination in fluid furnishings, easy to extend, contract and reconfigure. Designer pieces brimming with shapes, colours and modular shapes, suited to the practical needs, the well-being and the creativity of users.
A name and a destiny. From the markets of Bahlara to smart working
Bahlara draws inspiration from the genius loci of Ballarò, the Palermo market known for its nomadism and transformations. Just as, at one time, the Arab merchants of Bahlara (the village that grew up near Monreale in the years when the cathedral was under construction) wandered between the stalls of Ballarò, contemporary smart workers move from one desk to another, from a booth to a gazebo, seeking restful places that welcome and support projects, negotiations, exchange of knowledge and functions.
The Bahlara system of furniture and fittings is at its best when the situation demands fluid and informal organisation of the space. That is, practically everywhere. It is the perfect choice for young companies and start-ups, where very different activities take place in the same space, or for established companies that want to update work methods and processes. Above all, it is the perfect choice for interior designers dealing with the complexities and the contradictions of the contemporary workplace, for those who show a genuine desire to deal with chaos, the ‘mother and father of all things’, thus reclaiming the most profound meaning of being a designer. The distinctive characteristic of the Bahlara system is that it literally takes shape in the hands of the designer, who is given the quasi-divine power to interpret the culture and values of clients through form, colour and atmosphere. Like a chameleon, every element of Bahlara transforms according to the needs and functions to be achieved, using an almost infinite range of combinations and finishings.
With the Bahlara desks Faram has reached the maximum potential of composition and personalization that a desk can guarantee. And it did so looking at the simplicity of market stalls and the power of a spontaneous aesthetic that continually gives rise to unusual structural gems.
The well-being of users of our products is an absolute priority for Faram. We have designed Bahlara desks to be adjustable in height from a minimum of 63cm to a maximum of 110cm.
The conference table, the one around which the entire work group meets periodically, is now the quintessential table, the undisputed ruler of office worktops. This is true for all furnishing systems and even more so for Bahlara, which entrusts its stylistic recognisability to the collective flexibility and reconfigurability of workspaces.
In the Bahlara furnishing system, the task of differentiating the desk of an operative from executive desk is entrusted to technological research, finishings and a judicious and elegant use of colour.
